Wisdoms Wednesdays: Leave An Inheritance, Even If You’re Broke

Updated: Jan 21, 2021

For many years as an entrepreneur I didn’t make any money.  I struggled month to month, paycheck to paycheck.  I paid my bills, and that was about it.

But one bill was never a question to pay: my life insurance.

I have a son and college debt.  Imagine if God called me tomorrow and I didn’t leave anything for him, for my parents to pay my debts and some for my church.  Irresponsible, right?

Proverbs 13:22 says

“A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children”

Entrepreneurs, if you haven’t already, you should give serious thought to getting your financial records in order for the time when you die (10 out of 10 people die one day), so that your estate can be passed on to your heirs in an orderly way and so that you can give a gift to church church (or favorite charity) one last time.

It costs me $30/month for this service.

Personally, I use Primerica to handle this for me.  Great organization, amazing people of God behind it, I highly recommend them.

Godpreneur Rule #254:  Godpreneurs leave their children and church something besides debts.
