Entrepreneurs #1 Priority Every Day

The other day my wife and I went to the grocery store. She was hungry, I wasn’t. I think you know where I’m going with this.
All diets, dietitians, and nutritionists say that you should NEVER go to the grocery store when you’re hungry. Makes sense. When I go to the store hungry, I stock up on Star Crunch and Funyuns. But when I’m in a clear state of mind due to not being hungry, I can make better decisions on what to fuel my body with.
Is it possible that in an effort to be the best entrepreneur we can be, we sometimes neglect our own spiritual growth? When the demands of our business require us to be on the go from dawn until late at night, we may be tempted to sacrifice our quiet time, prayer, or other spiritual disciplines.
The Bible says:
“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers” (Acts 20:28 NIV).
Notice he warned them first to keep watch over themselves; then their flock. What a valuable lesson for us as business owners.
You will have a hard time leading and giving of yourself to anyone from an empty spiritual “cup.” Even Jesus had to take time away from the crowds and His disciples to talk to the Father.
Your relationship with God is your first priority, you are in a better position to serve your family, friends, and business.
When we forget to give God the best of our day, we may begin to see issues like anger, bitterness, resentment, and moral dilemmas arise in our office, in meetings, and around clients and vendors. We are not doing our business any favors when we are spiritually exhausted.
